High Torque...Caution

Ratchet finish is great. The screws are Blue (medium) thread locked...attention to detail. However, for high torque use, a breaker bar with an optional pipe extender might be better than depending on the 4 teeth to crack the nut/bolt. It appears the 4-tooth ratchet is made from a cast, rather than a machined material. Question the usefulness in a high torque application.I don't see where lubing the teeth as suggested by another reviewer would accomplish anything. Maybe facilitate slippage of the teeth.Overall, it's a useful tool, but has some limitations.

Nice and long

This is now my longest 3/8 ratchet. It is even longer than my breaker bar. This will be great for suspension parts that require quite a bit more torque to loosen. The head is a bit thicker, which I expected for something designed to take for force.

Solid build

my first Neiko ratchet, I needed an upgrade to throwing a cheater bar on my 3/8ths husky and this is a great substitute. Besides the thicker head (from drive to release), its teardrop shape is actually pretty small. I trust fully metal ratchets over soft handled ones for longevity, and this ratchet has nice knurling at the handle. Make sure to open this up and grease it, as shown mine came bone dry and had a very loud ratcheting mechanism. Two T10s and one T8 or 9 for the on off switch (my t9 wouldn’t sit fully so a t8 worked fine) to take this apart. Once greased it’s much more quieter, and actuates much more smoothly! Besides being an absolute fingerprint magnet like most chrome is, this ratchet feels really nice. Sockets lock on very nicely but there is noticeably more socket slack/play while held on to this ratchets drive. My old husky ratchet tends to hold on sockets quite tightly and usually has minimal to no play depending on the sockets used. For a little over $25 on sale for Black Friday, I can’t complain

1/2 inch 100 Tooth Ratchet

I'm not complaining since I got it for 11 bucks but, did a child just recently paint this? There was blue paint splatter on different parts of the rachet, the paint on the handle is not well done either, that isnt a huge deal to me but didn't look very professional. Second the ratchet is Bone dry! Luckily i had air tool oil. Other then that, the ratchet seems good when lubricated, so be prepared if you buy it to lube it up. I have actually used it yet I just got it but the mechanism seems good and the tool I sturdy.Update. Neiko customer service was amazing ans sent a replacement right away and I got to keep the old one. Also this ratchet has held up great. I would recommend especially for the price.

Goood 1/2 inch ratchet, Not a Breaker Bar

How can I complain when for just under $12 , I have a nice Ratchet for the half inch deep sockets I use so often. Now, not to say this will match the strength of my Snap On Dual 80 Technology Long Handle Ratchet, that cost me $200, but as a truck tool box item I think it's a great deal.Of course I'm not standing on it loosening old Lug Nuts, That's what a Breaker Bar is for... But a mud flap change or a frame bracket job should be ok here.Basically a 3/8 duty ratchet in half inch.I'm sure that the quality of steel here in this cheap Chinese Tool is way inferior to our USA made Tools like Snap On brand. But for Twelve Bucks, it's worth it !

A little heavy but good quality

Bought for my son and so far it has held up great. He had bought a URREA brand one and it fell apart a week and a half later. This one is a bit heavier than the other one he had but it is also half the price and has so far lasted

perfect for the job

works well. i was skeptical of its strength with the telescoping handle. i have a dewalt 1/2 cordless impact thats capable of 1100 ft pounds of breaking strength and it wasnt enough, so i got this. put it on the lug nut of a bus, extended the handle and promptly stood on it and started bouncing on it. broke the lug nut loose and tool is still 100% perfect. glad i got it. had to use it on a few more of these lug nuts

Good to hurl. Better to ratchet.

I only had about 27 others similar to this. This thing ratchets like a ratchet. Get tired of ratcheting one way and just flip the switch and go the other way. In extreme circumstances you can also hurl it at a coworker if your tolerance for them has hit its limit.
