Description

  • PREMIUM QUALITY: These flat flap discs, also known as cut off wheels 4 1/2 inch, are constructed with industrial grade premium zirconia abrasive for strength, durability, and extended disc life as it holds up to high temperatures and pressure.
  • STOCK REMOVAL: Each angle grinder sanding disc is made with coarse 60 grit zirconia alumina, making this abrasive flap disc ideal for grinding or blending on hard to grind materials like metal, rubber, plastic, fiberglass, and wood.
  • FLAT T27: These flat Type 27 discs are effective for blending, smoothing, finishing flat surfaces, deburring, grinding contours, and radius grinding on steel, sheet metal, welding, machining, heavy duty equipment and industrial maintenance.
  • FIBERGLASS BACKING PLATE: The resin fiber construction complemented by the fiberglass backing plate absorbs vibrations without smearing and helps prevent contaminating the workpiece during usage.
  • SPECIFICATIONS: Each disc measures at a 4-1/2-inch diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor size, making it compatible with most angle grinders with a speed of up to 13,300 RPM. Designed for grinding, blending, sanding, and finishing on a wide range of materials.

The Neiko 11117A 60 grit Zirconia 4.5” Flap Disc is a T27 flat disc outfitted with a 7/8” arbor and are packed in a 10-piece set.

Flap discs are a multi-functional abrasive which can perform stock removal and surface finishing at the same time. These zirconia flapper wheels are best used on ferrous and non-ferrous metals like stainless steel, carbon steel, tool steel, nickel alloy, aluminum, titanium, cast iron and welds. Zirconia flap discs can be used on other materials like rubber, plastic, fiberglass, and wood, but aluminum oxide would be a good alternative if price and surface finish are a concern.

Abrasive flap discs are commonly used in welding, machining, manufacturing, heavy-duty equipment work, and industrial maintenance.
Can be used to remove paint and rust, cleaning flashing, edge grinding and chamfering, deburring, blending of weld seams and materials, stock removal, sharpening, shaping, contouring, and smoothing of various materials, surface preparation and surface finishing, and the finer grits can be used for shining and polishing.

Choose coarse 40 grit when removing more material or initial grinding, flattening, or shaping.
Choose medium 60 or 80 grit for surface preparation, cleaning, and deburring.
Choose fine 120 grit for blending or creating a semi-polished surface.
